Lenovo Vibe K5 Launching in India Tomorrow

Lenovo is planning to launch a new member to their Vibe series on June 13th. The Lenovo Vibe K5 will be placed right around the Rs.7000 mark (just over $100), where it will face tough competition from the likes of Xiaomi, Intex, and other budget players. It is a smart move from Lenovo and the Vibe K5 will be flying off the shelves in no time. The phone is launching as an Amazon India exclusive on June 13th and it remains to be seen whether the phone will be sold through flash sales or not.

The bigger brother of the Lenovo Vibe K5, the K5 Plus is already available for just Rs.8,999 (around $136). It comes with the Snapdragon 616 SoC and a full HD display. Considering this, it is only logical to think that the Vibe K5 will be priced well below it.

In comparison with the Vibe K5 Plus, the little brother, comes along with the Snapdragon 415 SoC. The SD 415 is a newer version of the famous SD 410 and comes with 8 cores. It is supported by the Adreno 405 GPU. The rest of the specifications are really easy to predict. There is 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage. There is a decent 13MP rear camera and a 5MP selfie camera.

What is interesting is that the phone has a metal body. There aren’t many phones in this price range to sport a metal body. To make things even better there is support for TheatreMax and the Lenovo Vibe K5 comes with Dolby Atmos support. This is a great offering in the budget segment and it will definitely give the other phones a run for their money. The pricing is still not confirmed and the official word will be out tomorrow. It may very well be the best budget smartphone out there if everything goes right.
