Intex has launched a new smartphone for consumers in India today with the Intex Aqua Strong 5.1. As the name implies, it is a handset in the 5-inch range, and while it’s a budget burner, it does offer up some solid features under the hood.

Earlier this month, we took a look at the Intex Aqua S7, a device in the mid-range class with 3GB of RAM and a fingerprint scanner. Well, the Intex Aqua Strong 5.1 has neither of those features although it does have the same size 5-inch display. The resolution isn’t nearly as strong at 854 x 480, and the trend continues with the rest of the Intex Aqua Strong 5.1 specs.

Under that slab of glass, you will find a MediaTek MT6735 processor clocked at 1.3GHz while a Mali-T720 GPU will handle the graphics. The processor gets a boost from 1GB of RAM, and the storage clocks in at the standard entry-level 8GB. Thankfully, you can expand that to a degree through a microSD card slot.

On the back of the Intex Aqua Strong 5.1 resides a 5MP sensor with a LED flash. The front-facing camera is listed at 2MP but is still strong enough to handles selfies on the go. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, Dual SIM slots, and 4G VoLTE. The phone draws its power from a 2,800mAh battery and runs Android 6.0 out of the box.

While the Intex Aqua Strong 5.1 isn’t as powerful as other handsets in its class, the price is palatable at only Rs. 4,999. The smartphone will be available to purchase in Champagne, Blue and White if you are looking to scoop one up.
