New Samsung Galaxy S6 design, nostalgia with a twist

#

The time of year is coming when we are firmly looking ahead to the next Samsung flagship. The Galaxy S6 is likely to be made official in the early part of next year and speculation is that Samsung’s Project Zero will bring a whole new look to the next in line. In the meantime concept ideas have been in plentiful supply, and now we have a new Samsung Galaxy S6 design that offers nostalgia but with a twist.

We’ve previously shared several visions of the Galaxy S6 and you can check out a couple of recent examples here and here. This latest Galaxy S6 concept comes from designer Deepak Ahuja who also provides an imagined specs lineup. These include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor or maybe an octa-core, a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display with 4K resolution, 4GB of RAM, and 32 or 64GB models for internal storage, expandable via microSD to 128GB.

It sports a 21-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and a 3.1-megaixel front-facing snapper. There’s a 3400 mAh battery, and the phone runs Android 5.0 Lollipop of course. It’s also waterproof like the Galaxy S5 and it looks as though it has a plastic casing, although many would like to see a really premium offering for the Galaxy S6 and there has been plenty of talk about this.

Concept Phones feels this design is very reminiscent of the Galaxy S4 but just larger and with curved edges to the display and we have to agree. The design features a curved edge screen down both sides on the front, rather than on just one side like the Galaxy Note Edge. We wonder how prospective buyers would feel about a new flagship resembling an older one, even with the jazzed up edges?

As for the real deal you can read more on the latest round of Galaxy S6 leaked specs at the link, and as well as this a new Galaxy S6 Edge model is rumored. It would be good to hear from readers about this latest render of next year’s flagship from Samsung. Would you be happy enough to see another plastic handset for the Galaxy S6, or are you holding out for a more premium look and feel? Drop us your comments in the box below.
