New Samsung Galaxy S5 specifications revisited
We could only be a couple of weeks away from seeing the next flagship smartphone officially launched by Samsung, and now some new Galaxy S5 specifications are being revisited all be it in a slightly different form.
The rumour mill surrounding the Samsung Galaxy S5 shows no sign of slowing down leading up to its official launch, as only recently there were claims the device will come in a prime and standard variants.
Now talk of a fingerprint scanner on the handset keeps emerging along with the possibility of an iris scanner, but now a new report coming out of Korea via ETnews, is claiming the device will feature a Samsung developed swipe fingerprint scanner.
This will be different than the Touch ID system that is used on the iPhone 5S as it would work by detecting the users fingerprint with a swipe across the screen. These latest claims come after serial tipsters evleaks showed us a screenshot of a 7-zip file named FingerprintService.apk, captioning it “From Samsung Galaxy S5”.
Of course these claims can’t be confirmed officially at least not until the device makes an appearance, which could be later this month at the scheduled Unpacked 2014 Episode 1 event taking place in Barcelona, Spain.
It seems as if the handset is going to feature a 5.25-inch 2K resolution display powered by an all new processor and running a new cleaner version of the Samsung TouchWiz UI so Samsung fans could be in for a treat.
Do you like the sound of this type of fingerprint scanner?
