Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 title for SM-G750, not S5 Neo

#

Now here’s a rather interesting snippet of information. For some time we’ve been hearing rumors about an upcoming Samsung device with model number SM-G750, and it was previously thought that this phone would be called the Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo. However, a very reliable tipster has now given a Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 title for the SM-G750, not the S5 Neo.

Back in March the above model number was spotted in a user agent profile when it was thought that it could be the Galaxy S5 Neo or the Galaxy S5 Mini, but later it was thought more likely to be the S5 Neo. More recently there was evidence from an import listing that the SM-G750 device would have an LCD display rather than a Super AMOLED variety.

Now prolific leaker @evleaks has come up with some further information on this, saying in a new tweet that the identity of the SM-G750 is actually the Galaxy Mega 2. Although we have no way of confirming this we have to say that this source is usually very dependable on leaked product information.

Although we had previously seen a 5.1-inch display rumored for the SM-G750 there’s some further news on this too, as it’s now said to have a 6-inch display with resolution of 1280 x 720. This all ties in rather nicely with news in March about next-generation Galaxy Mega devices.

At that time it was suggested that the new handsets would be running Android 4.4 KitKat and use Exynos processors, although we’ve heard nothing more about this since. We’ll be following developments on this with interest and will pass on news as we hear it.
