BlackBerry has made some interesting choices over the past few years and they’ve made another today. The BlackBerry DTEK50 has become official, and it’s a handset you may be familiar with if you’ve been keeping up with our coverage.
Blackberry CEO John Chen said in a recent press conference that they still have a relevant position in the market even after posting a huge loss of $670 million for the first quarter of 2016. Now it looks like they are making their first move towards solidifying their position. Blackberry is currently working on 3 phones codenamed, Neon, Argon and Mercury. The phones are being manufactured by none other than Alcatel and it will be released one after the other.
Next month, BlackBerry will showcase their latest smartphone, at least according to the company’s CEO; to be more precise, BlackBerry is expected to reveal two cheaper models actually, one of them featuring a physical keyboard (code-named Rome) while the other being a regular touchscreen smartphone (Hamburg). Today’s piece of news is that the next BlackBerry Hamburg will be built by TCL, a Chinese company that manufactures Alcatel-branded smartphones.
